It's fun to look back over our car history! They represent where we were in life and the people associated with those different phases. I admire your willingness to stop driving when you felt it was no longer safe. So many older folks refuse to accept the limitations of aging. But, yes, it would be hard for many reasons.

and each type had it's own design. Now cars seems to be grey, white or black and look relatively the same.

An interesting departure, Janice. I loved the car history. I especially loved thinking about you in that sporty little "Arrest me red" car! I, myself am thinking about letting my car go in January. I drive about 10 miles a week. With gas over $6 a gallon and my insurance over $700... doesn't seem logical. It would represent quite a change...

Letting the car go was a hard decision for me to make. On the one hand, I didn't see myself as a safe driver any longer, and there was the cost of gas, insurance, and car maintenance, as you say. On the other hand, there are feelings of loss of independence and sadness - even though I didn't really like driving any longer. I can walk to most everything, there are delivery services, and family members willingly take me somewhere if needed . . .but.
