Starting today, I’ll occasionally include pop-up discussions for you to participate in. These topics will allow us to connect and discuss aging-related issues. Sharing ideas with others is key as we grow older.
They also allow us to share tips and discuss concerns and successes.
Our first Pop-Up Discussion topic is:
What does aging well mean to you?
A classic definition of aging well describes it as the process of aging in a healthy and fulfilling manner. It encompasses maintaining physical, mental, and social well-being as one ages.
My definition of aging well is being the best version of myself that I can be, given my circumstances. However, others may see it differently—no right or wrong answers exist. Aging well may mean playing golf daily, starting a new business after retirement, gardening, or something entirely different.
What would your definition be? Take a few minutes to let me know.
A few requests.
Comments are friendly and supportive.
Try ideas that appeal to you and let us know what worked and what didn’t work.
Let’s get started, and welcome!
P.S. This is one of my latest paintings.

Aging well for me means I am in a life that includes me. I want to be seen and heard. I want to be able to do things for me.
That said, it also means being generous and kind to others, having lots of patience to listen and learn and offering my life’s wisdom and support, whatever that may entail.
How will you know that you are aging well?
