Just a glimpse of my trip to Kaua'i last week.

I love Kauai. We haven’t been there in years. Thank you for sharing your vacay and the pics!

I love dark chocolate but one thing we need to be aware of is the amount of cadmium some bars contain. The cacao beans soak up the cadmium in the soil.

Belated happy birthday! What a lovely trip they planned for you. I haven’t been to Kauai yet but have been to Maui twice, about 40 years ago. The islands are magical. I agree about flying the highest class you can afford, especially for long flight.

Thanks for sharing!

Hi Teri, Thanks for the birthday wishes. I loved Kaua'i; it was so rural, uncrowded, and beautiful in every way..

Thanks for sharing your trip with us Janice. So sorry to hear about the bed bugs!

Kaua'i is the one island I have not been to and would love to go in the future, so I appreciated all the tips.

Happy belated birthday and wishing you many more heathy and happy years ahead. What a way to celebrate although I hope to get there well before I am in my 80s :)

Hi Melanie, It was an epic birthday celebration - that's for sure. I hope you get a chance to visit - it was a lovely change with its quaintness, roosters, and beauty.

I'll get there for sure. BTW Janice, your mention of the roosters reminded me of Key West. They're all over there too.

Well done Janice and belated birthday wishes. 🎂 I’ve always loved the Hawaiian Islands and was gifted to be married to my Prince Don while in Waikiki in 1984. Many return trips there and ultimately to Maui with my last trip to have a traditional Hawaiian ash scattering ceremony for Don in 2019. I’m delighted you got to experience the “aloha spirit”. Although you may have a few more “wisdom years” than me I hear you about the need to listen to that “other wisdom” our bodies may be passing along to us. I spent a week in Rome with my granddaughter in October - 17,000 - 20,000 steps per day plus stairs. Grateful for the entire experience but like you a bit slower pace is waiting around the corner. 😅

Hi Marilyn, that pretty much sums it up. It was a lovely trip, and I managed, but won't do it again. My body was not happy with me and let me know.
