Scammers caught me again last month. Fortunately, no harm was done. Although I knew better, I still missed it until after the fact.

Janice, thanks for hosting Carol and giving us all a chance to read this great article. Carol, I think you voiced the fears so many of us have and I appreciate you giving us some sound advice how we can move past it. We need our computers but some days it seems to be a little much!

I do not answer the phone unless I recognize the number. I was scammed in crypto a while back and still starting from the loss and feeling foolish.

I don't open unknown emails either.

It's a different world and there is always a scammer one step ahead of us.

Good reminder, nice article!

This is great and I identify with a lot of what you write Janice. Things changed significantly when I turned my thoughts round to ‘doing the tech is divine service’. That allows me to calm down, and often then I can think things through, whereas before the anxiety in itself is a block.

Jane, Very nice. I totally agree with your point about anxiety being a block.

Really good article. Sorry you got scammed Janice. I hope you managed to sort it out with little financial damage. Some of those things are very convincing

Hi Cali, Yes, fortunately, I sorted it out, but you're right. They are sneaky - I consider myself reasonably aware - and still. I worry about older adults and their vulnerabilities.
