I’m a tortie cat named Bella, and I may be eight years old. I’m not sure about that though - this is my story.

Very sweet story. I’m glad you have her and she you, animals can most always bring us comfort and joy. It sounds like you are adjusting the very best you can. I admire your attitude, I know it must be surreal seeming at times. Watching a love one with Dementia is beyond sad. Best to you and I enjoy your writings.

Aw, Janice. So sweet. Our little four-footed creatures suffer loss and are afraid of change. They don't even like it when you decide to move the armchair from one side of the room to the other. You are succeeding in bringing her to the light side. Good for you.

Hi Sharron, So very true . . . Bella has been through a lot.

Oh, this is precious. I really want a cat or dog but I simply can't add that responsibility until making a decision on our next move.

That makes sense - change can be so traumatizing for pets. Although we did move a cat. We drove with her in a cage from California to the state of Washington. We lived there for six years and then drove back to California to a new place. She didn't seem to mind at all. Maybe it depends on the animal's personality in part.

My cat moved with me all over the country. She loved riding in a truck, the car not so much, but she managed.

I think I need to figure out the next major move before deciding the simple but responsible pleasures of life.
