So important, Janice. Thank you! In taking stock, I was gratified to see that I have everything covered! (Of course, my life is much much simpler, I admit.)

I'm the DPOA for my aunt who has dementia and lives in assisted living (memory care likely in the next year or two). I'm her only living family and quickly got paperwork set up for her to get a will and me as her POA and DPOA. Are the POA and DPOA and Medical POA all three different documents I need notarized? I did get her medical directive notarized, as well as the DPOA, maybe that is all I need? I don't want to overlook something important.

Hi Steve, I am not positive, it was quite awhile ago and it depends on your state, but I am thinking they were. I know the will needed to be notarized. These are the guidelines in California https://www.freewill.com/learn/california-power-of-attorney-requirements.
