Living Well as Our Bodies Change
Building Confidence While Living with an Aging Body, Our Choices Make a Difference, and the Power of Movement
Over the past few weeks, we’ve discussed rebuilding confidence in our aging bodies, the role of choices as we age, and the importance of movement in later life.
While each of those topics approach aging from a different angle, all three point to a similar challenge: remaining engaged with life as our bodies and priorities change.
Physical limitations may lead us to doubt our independence, our identity, and our sense of competence. I’m finding that aging well depends less about trying to be who we were and more about learning how to work with who we are now.
The question for today’s pop-up discussion is this:
In what ways are you learning to work with your body rather than against it?
My response would be paying attention to the information it’s telling me.
Your turn!
