They say that contentment, the state of being happy and satisfied in the long term, is a component of well-being and aging well. So, I’m reading more about it and looking for ideas to foster it.

I like to doddle, dilly dally, and daydream when my soul is tired. It helps. Wishing your soul a refreshing, Janice.

Oh, how I relate to your post. My soul is tired, I’m bone tired. The state of the world is too much too carry, even with all my news apps deleted and no tv watching. Sigh…

You are on the right path, Wendy. My own stress and fear and sadness has lowered 100% since giving away my TV and stopping the newspaper. It is easier than most would assume. I have never been on social media, and I believe that has been the best decision. I wish you well.

Janice ~ ever since I found Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor's book Whole Brain Living and began meditating in earnest, my soul has become more peaceful. Oh, and I turned off the news... Ha! Take care. xoxo

It's a funny thing. My soul is yearning for more. I'm disconnected. So this past couple days I'm debating on what to eliminate from my life. Maybe not start over, but at least stare at a blank slate for awhile, take some pressure away, to find what is missing.

My soul is tired. It has been a hard few weeks. I remind myself to ensure there are small and large events on the horizon to look forward to

Hi Cali, I can imagine your soul is very tired - it has been a challenging year in so many ways. I think that's so important finding small and large events to look forward to

I appreciate how you listed, in point form, the ways our soul can be tired and what we can do about it. Often essays about this are filled with too many words (my own included!). Seeing it spelled out like this is very powerful, thank you.

Thanks Donna, I'm trying to sort all of this for myself and enjoy this whole aging process the best I can.

I'm told our soul doesn't get tired our bodies do. Fyi

Ways to foster and nurture contentment would make a good seminar, webinar, workshop and gathering of those interested in pursuing the topic in greater depth. I am going to go out on a limb and suggest that we co-sponsor such an event in the near future. What say you? Maybe first, a one on one conversation to explore further?

Hi Gary, What a great idea and thanks so much for thinking of me. However, I'm not sure I have the time or energy for such a project at the moment. Could we check again in September and discuss some possibilities?
