There are two things that strike me. One is the need to tell your family before Alzheimer's what you want and to put it in a living will. The other is you lose the person before death and that is where the living will is so important. I am putting up a post about Alzheimer's prevention tomorrow.

It's very powerful that Nathan talked about forgiveness and how it changed his ability to care for his Mom. I am going to meditate on this, dig deep to see what work I need to do on forgiveness. Thank you Janice for sharing this and thank you Nathan for your help by sharing your story.

I think he was an amazing son. Our conversation made me so much more thankful for the systems we have in place in the United States. I totally agree about counting our blessings.

HI Jan, He is getting a Ph.D. and his dissertation is a comparison of the two cultures and how differently people manage the issues of caregiving. I think he hopes to take some of our ideas back to his country.

Hi, Yes, I've known him for about 13 years, I was his supervisor when he was an intern counselor and I am supporting him thru the Ph.D. process.
