There are two things that strike me. One is the need to tell your family before Alzheimer's what you want and to put it in a living will. The other is you lose the person before death and that is where the living will is so important. I am putting up a post about Alzheimer's prevention tomorrow.
It's very powerful that Nathan talked about forgiveness and how it changed his ability to care for his Mom. I am going to meditate on this, dig deep to see what work I need to do on forgiveness. Thank you Janice for sharing this and thank you Nathan for your help by sharing your story.
He sounds like an amazing son! He was there 100%. It is always good to get a different point of view and compare situations. It often makes us count our blessings even more. Thank you, Janice.
I think he was an amazing son. Our conversation made me so much more thankful for the systems we have in place in the United States. I totally agree about counting our blessings.
HI Jan, He is getting a Ph.D. and his dissertation is a comparison of the two cultures and how differently people manage the issues of caregiving. I think he hopes to take some of our ideas back to his country.

Hi Donna, I thought that Nathan's message was a powerful one as well.
Hello Janice, I would love to talk with you for some advise with my mother-in-law.🙏🏻
First, would you be willing to talk?
Second, how would I be able to contact you?

I hope you will share some of his findings with us. Do you know this young man personally?
Hi, Yes, I've known him for about 13 years, I was his supervisor when he was an intern counselor and I am supporting him thru the Ph.D. process.
That’s so awesome!
