I’d have missed all of that had I listened to my doubts. Something to keep in mind for the future.

Good for you! I need to start doing this, too. I use my knees as an excuse, and it means I miss out.

Knees are definitely an issue - I found the walking stick helps.

I love Shasta and that area of the country. I'm happy you were able to experience it.

Oh, how lovely! I (still!) kick myself for opportunities I haven't taken in the past. I read once that 'you'll only regret the things that you don't do, not the things that you do' - and while I don't agree with that 100%, these days I DO make sure that I ask myself, in relation to a specific experience I'm not sure about participating in, 'will you regret not doing this?' If the answer's 'yes', then heck, I'm in!

What a great question to be asking oneself .

Funnily enough it's not one I've regretted asking myself - whichever side of the yes/no coin the answer has landed! It's an excellent tool by which to gauge my feelings about something, that's for sure.

Janice your "doubting" self talk sounds exactly like my voice. Good for you for overcoming it and forging ahead for this this new adventure! And tell your daughter that I said she is a angel for always including you in their plans. She sounds like a lovely woman, indeed!

Sharron, She is that - they both are for including me in their plans - even at times insisting I go with them.

Well done Janice. When you were listing off your excuses I was nodding along because I would use every one of those, except my knees which I would substitute that I would be too tired! Your work continues to inspire.

Thanks Donna, So does yours - that's for sure.

All of that activity was so easy 35 years ago. Now you have me trying to figure out what happened. Thank you for the post. Must motivate now.

Hi Thomas, Isn't that the truth. I've been somewhat active most of my life - so I picked up the pace slowly but persistently.
