Over the past three weeks, we’ve discussed how anger at our aging bodies takes over at times, how we might be able to live with loss and live fully, and how we can live intentionally while experiencing medical realities following the ideas presented in the 4M’s Framework.
While the topics seem different on the surface, they share a common thread: ways to experience dignity and self-respect in our later years by
Listening to what our body is telling us - is the migraine headache stress-related or are stomach issues causing anxiety?
Finding ways to enjoy life after losing our loved ones, our purpose, or our sense of self.
Being an active participant in medical decisions - making them based on our values and wishes - not allowing ourselves to be the victim of someone else’s.
The question for today’s pop-up discussion is this:
What is one thing we can begin doing today to support our overall sense of well-being, independence, and life satisfaction?
My answer would be to understand how deeply feelings are connected to my body and that they just might have a message for me if I’d listen.
