Thank you for this special read!! As I age, my family's pets are my extended family and my own 4 dogs are my besties. I am honored to walk the Earth with these wonderful souls.
This is wonderful Janice! I love how many rescues and international travellers there are in your family. We rescued our last dog and decided she was a born to be a gypsy. She was starving in the forest when she was found. We had her for four years and tried everything, including a behaviour specialist, to help her blend into our busy family life but in the end it just didn't work. She needed to be with her person 100% of the time and we couldn't do that with our young kids in sports and us at work. She was adopted by a farm nearby and from there one of their international workers fell in love with her and took her when she went back to Slovenia. We had to get her vet paperwork in order for her to immigrate! She is doing well and has certainly had an interesting life.
Hi Donna, Your gypsy would have wonderful stories to tell, I bet. Bella, the tortie cat, was severely traumatized when we got her. She will have nothing to do with anyone but me and manages to sleep on the bed - as close as possible every night - her choice. It did take about years to get to that point, though.
I've never been without a dog in 72 years and imagine that's the way it will be until the end. Dogs are such brilliant companions who get one out and about and active twice daily, who listen when one chatters to oneself and who never ever judge. And who give love unconditionally and always.
Hi, What a wonderful story! It looks like Frankie has found her forever home. My black cat, Bailey, is an absolute love bug. So much for the myths about black cats.
I want to introduce you to the pets in my family. They add so much to my life.

Hi Nancy, They certainly add a lot to our lives, I have found.
You are an old softie, Janice, with a heart as big as heaven. Bless you and your family for saving the lives of all these loving little creatures.
Hi Sharron, Guilty! It breaks my heart to see how people often mistreat and abandon such faithful friends. Talk about unconditional love.

Everyone needs a pet...
Hi Pru, I couldn't agree more about everyone needing a pet. They add so much to our lives.
Great minds think alike! https://rightfootforward.substack.com/p/deck-the-hall-with-kitties
