I absolutey needed to read this today. I am struggling on making time to write more and be consistent. I just made not to read this again during the week. Beautiful reminders.

Great advice and I loved the post you recommended on the writer flying home with her Dad’s ashes x

One of the things that resonates with me about your writing is your calm. You seem determined, yet calm. Is this practiced or just who you are?

Hi Heather, I am determined - and I used to be pretty calm, but during the past six years it has been over-run with anger, frustration, and a myriad of emotions.Y our comment gives me hope that the calm is returning.

You had me at the title!

When we decide it's like we draw a line in the sand, before and after. We can be a different person after we decide (of course then we have to put in the effort, but it feels different).

Hi Donna, That is the truth of it - there seems to be a different level of commitment.

Yes. I know this feeling.

This is exactly what I needed to read today. I've decided that if I want to live in the fullest way possible, one thing I need to do is replace useless time spent on digital media with activities I value deeply. I'm culling my list of Substack Reads - it's waaaaay too long! - and your post today made me go, "okay, THIS newsletter is one I definitely need to KEEP." Thank you for adding value to my life! ❤️

I love Mel Robbins. I did her Mindset/Reset program and took me completely off the course I was headed into... in a good way. That was 4 years ago. Today I'm such a different person half the time I don't know who I am... so today no looking deeper than out the window at the blue sky, the bright light of the sun, and watching the deer walk by... just for today. Great read, Janice, as always I love your work.

"Do I want to eat a piece of chocolate cake, or do I want to make a healthier food choice?" Ah, let's face it, Janice, at my age I would most likely choose cake. But that is just me. Still, I find your words so up-lifting no matter how old I am. Thank you so much.

Hi Sharon, I might choose cake too, just a smaller piece!

Thanks for the idea of substituting the word habits for goals. Weekly, I write a post about my intentions for the coming week (starting with an assessment of how I did the previous week.) While I am discussing details--how many words written, how much time spent in exercise--I can see that the whole process of writing daily posts have been to develop healthy habits that help me age gracefully. But they also give me a way of celebrating each day of my life.

I think I will try to follow her more through her writings and videos if I can. You are such a positive person and a very influential with your words. Thank you again and again!

Mel Robbins is a great resource - that's for sure. She had a television show for awhile, but it was cancelled. Thank you so much for your kind words. I am so glad to hear that you are enjoying the articles.
